How is EyeRelief different from other Omega-3 Products?
EyeRelief contains Omega-3 fatty acids, Flaxseed oil, Borage oil and Turmeric root. These 4 key ingredients have all shown to have anti-inflammatory properties making EyeRelief an excellent choice to relieve your dry eye symptoms.
Omega-3 Fatty Acids: Omega-3 fatty acids are vital players in eye health. First, Omega-3’s help to inhibit the inflammation that results in dry eye. These fatty acids allow your body to contain inflammation thus averting the occurrence of dry eye. Omega-3 fatty acids also help the glands in your eyes make the healthy oil that coats your tear film and helps reduce evaporation. This healthy oil supports healthy tear function.
Flax Seed Oil: Flax seeds are rich in essential fatty acids, particularly the beneficial type known as Omega-3. These fatty acids work throughout the body to protect cell membranes. A recent study has found that flaxseed oil may be as effective as a commonly used dry eye medication (doxycycline) for the treatment of dry eye. Continue reading EyeRelief For Dry Eyes

Doctor’s Advantage Products, LLC, (“Doctor’s Advantage”) would like to update you regarding product modifications with two of our products, Macular Shield and Macular Shield plus Complete Multivitamin. As you know, the Age-Related Eye Disease Study 2 (“AREDS 2”) showed that a daily nutritional supplement containing a unique formulation of high-dose ingredients can possibly slow the progression of Age-Related Macular Degeneration (“ARMD”) and may even reduce the risk of developing advanced ARMD.
Our macular degeneration products, Macular Shield and Macular Shield plus Complete Multivitamin both contain AREDS 2 ingredients. The AREDS 2 study also analyzed the ingredient zinc between dosages of 25 mg and 80 mg. Currently, our products contain 80 mg of zinc. The AREDS 2 study revealed that 25 mg of zinc may be as beneficial as 80 mg of zinc. Other studies suggest that certain side effects may occur with high dose zinc supplementation, which include the following: Continue reading We’ve Updated Our Formula

Nutrition and Health
Research shows us that maintaining health and wellness, including optimal vision is now possible with nutritional supplementation, diet and other lifestyle modifications. Unfortunately, most American adults are following the “Standard American Diet” (S.A.D.) which is nutritionally deficient, high-calorie and has too much sugar. The S.A.D. promotes the body’s need for a pharmaceutical grade scientifically designed multivitamin that provides the vital nutrients needed for anti-aging, optimal health and wellness.
When it comes to multivitamin dietary supplements, there are numerous choices. Generally speaking, however, most are lacking in the therapeutic ingredient dosage and the quality is insufficient to provide significant health benefits. Continue reading The Benefits of Taking a Multivitamin
What is Glaucoma?
Glaucoma is a disease of the optic nerve and is the leading cause of irreversible blindness worldwide. This condition is characterized by a particular pattern of progressive damage to the optic nerve that generally begins with a subtle loss of side vision (peripheral vision). If glaucoma is not diagnosed and treated, it can progress to loss of central vision and blindness. Glaucoma is usually, but not always, associated with elevated pressure in the eye (intraocular pressure). Generally, it is this elevated eye pressure that leads to damage of the eye (optic) nerve. In some cases, glaucoma may occur in the presence of normal eye pressure. This form of glaucoma is called “normal tension glaucoma” (NTG) and is usually associated with poor regulation of blood flow to the optic nerve. Continue reading Are You Showing Signs of Glaucoma?
Omega-3 fish oils are available to customers in two forms: the natural triglyceride form or the synthetic ethyl ester form. Fish oil in the triglyceride form is in its most natural state. Because of this, there are several benefits:
Increased Absorption: Research confirms that concentrated fish oil in the triglyceride form is up to 70% more bio-available than in the ethyl ester form. Because essential fatty acids in the triglyceride form are absorbed well during metabolism, overall levels of EPA and DHA in consumers of triglyceride-based fish oils far surpass those in people who choose ethyl esters.

Omega-3 fatty acids are required for human health, normal growth and development. These essential fatty acids are commonly found in fish such as salmon, tuna, mackerel, sardines, other seafood, some plants and nut oils.
Studies show that Omega-3’s reduce inflammation and may help lower the risk of developing chronic disease, including heart disease, arthritis and even some forms of cancer.
Omega Shield from Doctor’s Advantage provides you with beneficial Omega-3 fatty acids that are often absent from the average American diet. Omega Shield is molecularly distilled, mercury free and contains 1 gram of natural Triglyceride fish oil. Our product is enteric coated to maximize absorption and eliminate any fishy smell or aftertaste. Please review the article below regarding the importance of enteric coating!
The New England Journal of Medicine published a paper that proved that patients needed only one-third the amount of fish oil if it was enteric coated. Delivering omega-3 intact to the intestines instead of the stomach, allowed 3X as much Omega-3 to be absorbed into the phospholipid membrane. The study was done on patients with Crohn’s disease but the take away message about the absorption can be applied to healthy population as well. Another paper compared studies that used enteric coated fish oil capsules – three studies used enteric coated capsules with positive results and one used ordinary gelatin capsules (no advantage).
